As an established fitness instructor, it is inevitable that you will encounter a client who is pregnant. It is important that you understand the stages of pregnancy and how the body changes during this time, so you can support and accommodate your client safely.

This highly practical 8-hour course will give you the skills to better assess and create programs for a greater range of clients, helping you grow into an exceptional exercise professional whilst keeping mum and bub safe.

about your teacher.

Coming from a background in physiotherapy, Yvonne has been applying manual therapy skills when treating various movement impairments conditions.

Seeing the benefits of pilates, she actively pursued her Pilates instructor certification and incorporated it into her rehabilitation programs.

Having taught over 40 pilates courses in Malaysia and Singapore, her passion for fitness and education has inspired her to nurture budding students to elevate their skillsets and wellbeing. She’s the perfect person to go to whether you need a good burn or a rehab fix!

Who is this workshop for?

The Mat based workshop is suitable for all fitness professionals including personal trainers, yoga instructors and pilates instructors.

The Reformer based workshop is suitable for pilates instructors who have completed a reformer Pilates teacher training course.

You must attend Day 1 to attend Day 2.

You can expect to:

  • Gain an understanding of the different stages of pregnancy and associated physiological and anatomical changes experienced by women during each stage.
  • Learn about the  potential risks, warning signs and contraindications experienced during pregnancy
  • Explore the benefits of exercise plus an in-depth review of current exercise guidelines during pregnancy
  • Learn how to confidently make modifications for exercises to provide a safe and effective workout through all trimesters
  • Develop effective programming for private training and how to include a pregnant client in small group prenatal classes.
  • Gain knowledge on what exercises are effective in helping pregnant clients retain strength and mobility throughout pregnancy and what should be avoided
