BECOME A WORLD-CLASS SLOW RESISTANCE TRAINING (SRT) INSTRUCTOR.

High intensity. Low impact.
Slow Resistance Training is built on one principle: time under tension.

Instead of counting reps, every movement is held under continuous, controlled load — no-momentum, no shortcuts.

Just your muscles, working at up to 8 counts per phase, until every fibre is recruited.

The science behind the shake.

Rooted in Lagree methodology, the SRT method proves that slower isn’t easier; it’s more effective. Spring-based resistance loads the muscle through its full range, protects connective tissue, and eliminates the momentum that lets muscles rest. The result is a workout that’s smarter, safer, and more efficient than anything high-impact can offer.

This is the method your clients will come back for, week after week.

Whether you’re a passionate SRT student, a fitness professional expanding your skills, or transitioning to a meaningful new career, this is where your journey begins. At The Flow Studio, we don’t just certify — we build exceptional instructors through rigorous education, hands-on practice, and dedicated mentorship.

WE CULTIVATE INSTRUCTORS WHO TEACH WITH
PRESENCE, PURPOSE, AND CLARITY.

AN ANATOMY EDUCATION AT A PILATES STANDARD

Gain 3 months’ access to our Pilates Anatomy Virtual Course — the exact Anatomy program our Pilates Teacher Training graduates complete. This level of anatomy education is extremely rare for SRT courses, allowing you to build a deeper, working understanding of the body and how anatomy drives every movement you teach. You have unlimited replays to master it at your own pace.
This course also qualifies as a pre-requisite for future Pilates Teacher Training.

TRAINED IN A PROVEN METHOD BACKED BY SCIENCE

Rooted in Lagree, our Slow Resistance Training program teaches time under tension, variable resistance, and neuromuscular recruitment. You don’t just perform the work, you understand it, coach it, and program it with intent.

MORE PRACTICAL HOURS

The only way to become a great instructor is to teach. Not to watch. To actually get on the machine, take clients through a sequence, make a mistake, get corrected, and do it again.

Our program gives you the highest possible number of supervised teaching hours within an SRT course – you’ll practise-teach daily, under direct supervision from senior educator, so that by graduation, leading a class feels like second nature.

LONG TERM MENTORSHIP

While many certifications in this space offer an intensive weekend with a visiting educator, we’re here to support your long term success. You learn from educators who are active SRT instructors, teaching daily in studio, and are invested in your development long after the assessment is done.

You will not be taught by guest trainers who fly in, hand out a manual, and leave. The weeks between sessions are where real learning happens – where you absorb, practise, make mistakes, and come back with better questions. Our weekend format is designed around exactly that rhythm.

FROM SCIENCE TO STUDIO FLOOR – WE TRAIN BOTH

SRT instruction requires two distinct skill sets: a technical command of the method, and the ability to deliver it in a room full of people with different bodies, different abilities, and different needs. We train you for both.

You’ll develop your coaching voice – verbal and tactile cueing, real-time corrections, layered intensity for mixed-ability classes, and how to create the kind of environment where clients push harder because they trust you completely.

WEEKENDS-ONLY FORMAT

Designed for working professionals, career-switchers, and dedicated practitioners, our weekend training model gives you the space to absorb theory during the week, return each session sharper, and build your skills over time — rather than cramming everything into a block and retaining none of it. Mastery is built gradually. This format is designed for that.

Module 1 – Foundations of Anatomy Online (10 hours to complete, 3 months access)

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the human body’s structure and movement, incorporating essential concepts of anatomy and Pilates principles. Divided into 4 sections, topics include anatomical terminology, bones and joints covering major bony landmarks, muscular system where we introduce major muscle groups in the body, their attachment sites and actions, types of muscle contractions and muscle classification. We will also learn basic movement analysis where we can learn to describe a particular movement at a joint using anatomical terms, muscle group involved and type of muscle contraction.

In Foundations of Pilates, we introduce the 6 Basic Principles of Pilates which includes concepts of Breathing, Pelvic, Rib Cage, Head and Cervical Placement as well as learning how to mobilize and stabilize the Scapular in the shoulder girdle as well as at the Hip, Knee and Ankle. 17 Mat Pilates exercises are taught emphasizing on observing the movement and learning about the goals of each exercise.

In the last section, the concepts of Postural Alignment are taught where we introduce neutral and other common postural anomalies. Understanding the significance of optimal postural alignment is key for injury prevention and effective movement.

Module 2 — The Method & Its Science

The physiological principles behind SRT: time under tension, variable resistance, slow-twitch vs. fast-twitch fibre recruitment, the five components of physical fitness, and why spring resistance outperforms free weights for most training goals.

Module 3 — Exercise Library & Form Mastery

The complete SRT exercise catalogue — setup, alignment, joint positioning, spring loading, range of motion, and the training intention of each movement. You will not just learn the exercises. You will understand them.

Module 4 — Cueing & Communication

In this module, we learn to analyse a body’s standing static posture by observation and palpation of bony landmarks.

We start to identify alignment patterns and potential imbalances within the body and recognise common postural issues.

Postural analysis serves as the foundation for developing effective individualised programs for injury prevention tailored to your client’s needs and goals in both a group and 1:1 setting.

Module 5 — Programming & Sequencing

How to build a class from the ground up — arc, intensity progression, intelligent transitions, spring load variation, and pacing. How to sequence for both group and private settings. How to create classes that feel like an experience, not just a workout.

Module 6 — Modifications & Special Populations

Adaptations for beginners, prenatal clients, post-natal recovery, those managing injury or chronic conditions, and advanced movers. Every person in your class should feel appropriately challenged and completely safe.

Module 7 — Safety, Load Management & Injury Prevention

Understanding the risk landscape in resistance training, how SRT’s principles inherently reduce injury risk, when to adjust load or modify movement in real time, and how to create a studio environment where clients trust themselves to push hard.

Module 8 — Practice Teaching

Supervised mock classes, peer feedback, and real-time educator corrections throughout the program. This is where everything comes together — and where most programs fall short. We don’t.

HEAR FROM OUR GRADUATES

See how our alumni turned their love of movement into a teaching career.
  • I really enjoyed the teacher training programme. It challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, build confidence in cueing, and deepen my understanding of Pilates principles. Personally, I’ve become more mindful of my own practice, and professionally, I feel more prepared to guide clients with clarity and care as a future instructor.

FAQ

Do I need to have taught before?

No. We welcome motivated beginners and experienced instructors equally. What matters most is your commitment to the process and a genuine love of the method.

Do I need to be a current client of The Flow Studio?

Familiarity with SRT is helpful but not required. Your foundation is built within the training itself — from the science up.

What if I already teach another modality — Pilates, yoga, barre?

Bring it with you. Your existing background enriches the learning and gives you a head start on cueing, client management, and body awareness. SRT principles integrate beautifully alongside most movement modalities.

Will I be able to teach at The Flow Studio after I certify?

Completing the program positions you well to audition as an instructor with us. While we cannot guarantee employment, our certified graduates are always our first consideration when spots open.

Is this certification internationally recognised?

SRT is a globally taught methodology with certified instructors across more than 15 countries. Your qualification will hold weight in studios worldwide where the method is taught.

How is SRT different from reformer Pilates?

Both share a foundation in controlled, spring-based resistance and a strong emphasis on core engagement. SRT applies a distinct training methodology — particularly around time under tension, tempo, and continuous load — that drives a higher cardiovascular and muscular demand within a single session. As an SRT instructor, you’ll be equipped to articulate this difference clearly and confidently.
