lectures, clinics & tutorials.

You will receive the best of both worlds. In-person Lectures, Clinics and Tutorials will be delivered by our fully trained Aligned with Briohny teaching team, further supported by Briohny’s recorded lectures. This means we will be able to truly deep dive into the Aligned curriculum, while providing you with the opportunity to ask questions and receive real time feedback and support.

On top of theory, expect to get fully involved in the learning process and grow your practice by applying exercises, tips, and tricks developed by Briohny over the years. Ranging from topics like “Introduction to Handstands”, “Safe and Effective Adjustments” to specific deep dives into poses such as “Warrior II”, we will work through these tutorials and clinics together, honing your specific skills to create both breadth and depth in your practice.

The Aligned Asana Manual teaches Briohny’s Dual Actions methodology and Aligned Asana cues, modifications, and misalignments to provide you with an in-depth study across a wide spectrum of yoga poses.

live practice and Q&A.

To round out your Aligned training experience, you will also receive the opportunity to connect with Briohny directly via 2 virtual live practices and 2 virtual live Q&As (one each per module). These exclusive, 2 hour live classes with Bri will heighten your mind-body connection and uplift your spirits as you discover a direct personal connection with Bri and other trainees. Open to all levels, be inspired by insightful alignment cues and feel challenged through fun yet accessible sequences.

Live Q&A will be limited to The Flow’s training group so you can be ensured of an intimate group experience to have all your questions answered. If you are unable to attend live events, they will be recorded and made available to you.

Dedicating time to a consistent practice is an integral part of your training. Discover sequences that will advance your practice from foundations towards arm balances and inversions, build your strength and flexibility, and aid in relaxation and de-stressing.

The program is broken down into two 100 hour modules:

module 1 – 100 hours.
19 – 23 October 2020 | 26 – 31 October 2020
8:30am – 5:30pm (1 hour break)

module 2 – 100 hours.
11 – 15 January 2021 | 18 – 23 January 2021
8:30am – 5:30pm (1 hour break)

You must complete both modules to obtain full certification.

200-hr certification.

The foundational Aligned Yoga 200-hr certification is designed for the curious student looking to advance his or her practice by cultivating strength and aspiring teachers looking to gain practical skills to teach and begin their journey. Graduates who complete all module requirements will receive Aligned Yoga and Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification.

Inversions and arm balances challenge us both physically and mentally. Build the tools from any level of practice to understand the journey towards these advanced postures. Learn interactive strength and flexibility exercises, partner inversion work, and independent wall and prop use. Cultivate confidence in guiding yourself and your future students into these postures through creative sequencing, safe spotting, hands-on adjustments, and efficient verbal cues.

Learn the Dual Actions, the Aligned Yoga system of activating opposing and complementary forces in the
body to achieve balance across your musculature, joints, and mind. Master the practice of creating space and
length in the body to flow more deeply into your practice

essential yoga anatomy.

Begin your journey towards understanding essential Yoga Anatomy to enhance your knowledge and
confidence. Learn the function of key muscles and discover basic anatomy focused on functional
biomechanics

3.0 the mind.

Learn the benefits of Pranayama and hone breathing techniques to energize the body while calming the
mind. Practice awareness of the diaphragm and chest, learn to flood the body with oxygen, and tune into your
Self.

meditation.

Discover different techniques for different mindspaces, from loving-kindness meditation and progressive
relaxation to mindfulness meditation and breath awareness. Begin to develop your own integrated daily
practice with guided recordings. Feel the benefits of stress reduction, enhanced self awareness, and
lengthened attention span.

kriyas.

Begin your practice of Traditional Yoga cleansing rituals intended to accelerate spiritual development and
bring practitioners to a profound state of balance and tranquility. Cover cleansing techniques such as
kapalabhati, nauli kriya, and nasal irrigation.

Apply the practices of contemplation to self-reflection and connecting with your psyche. Create sustainable
tools to integrate your personal life experiences with themes from the Sutras of Patanjali. Practice methods of

2.0 the study.

alignment.

Working one asana at a time, develop the tools to understand the mechanics of each pose and how to guide
others in a succinct and engaging way. Develop your teaching eye, learn to spot common misalignments,
build the confidence to apply modifications, and lead others in effective muscular engagement.

communicating with cues.

The yoga world is filled with alignment cues and belief systems which often contradict one another. Demystify
the reasons behind the cues. Discover and practice the ability to communicate in your own voice rather than
just repeating what you’ve heard.

assists and adjusts.

Adjustments are a valuable instrument of communication and a key way for students to learn correct
engagement, yet many teachers fear hands-on corrections. Learn safe and effective assists and hands-on
adjustments. Acquire the right customizations to approach students with knowledge and respect.

sequencing.

Study sequencing across different branches of modern Vinyasa-based flow. Discuss peak pose sequencing,
alignment cue sequencing, body-focused sequencing, stretch-based flows, heartfelt flows, ladder flows, and
more. Learn a foundational sequence that is accessible and challenging, yet easily tailored to different class
lengths and levels. Make these sequences your own with creative modifications in your own voice.

3.0 the mind.

Integrate meditation into your value as a teacher. Dive deeper into different techniques for different
mindspaces and begin to incorporate meditative techniques in your classes. Lead others in discovering the
incredible benefits of stress reduction, emotional wellbeing, enhanced self awareness, lengthened attention
span, better memory, and an increased supply of loving kindness.

pranayama.

Learn the benefits and basic tools to begin incorporating Pranayama in your class. Provide added value as a
teacher and guide your students towards effective breathing techniques to energize the body while calming
the mind.

kriyas.

Diversify your offerings with Kriya practices in your class. Through teaching these Traditional Yoga cleansing
rituals you can help accelerate spiritual development and bring practitioners to a profound state of balance

Deposits are not refundable for any reason. Aside from the deposit, your remaining payments are 100% refundable until 90 days prior to course start date. At 90 days prior to course start date, all fees become 100% non-refundable. In special cases, your spot may be transferable to another individual. To initiate a refund or transfer, please contact us directly.

Under no circumstances does payment ensure certification. All certifications are merit-based only and students must meet all requirements for graduation. We do not sell certifications.

Certification for successful graduates

No, you do not. All materials you need will be provided.

This course is suitable for all dedicated students, aspiring yoga teachers and current teachers seeking certification. You may not necessarily have the goal of becoming a yoga teacher. This course will, in general, awaken or deepen your yoga practice, and equip you with the tools necessary to teach a yoga class. 

It is recommended that students seeking teacher certification should:

  • Have a minimum 6 months of yoga practice experience, any style
  • Have a passion to learn and explore the deeper dimensions of yoga
  • Be free of major injuries (please inform of minor but recurring injuries in advance)

The training will be held at The Flow Studio (7, Jalan Riong, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur). Limited parking spaces and street parking is available at the studio.

Yoga mats, props, and towels are provided at The Flow Studio. Feel free to bring your own if you prefer yours.

Shin Yee Lim and Barbara Bogos will be your teachers for this program.

You must attend all hours of this course to comply with the yoga training course requirements. However, we understand that you may not be able to foresee every conflict in schedule. You may complete any of your missed class(es) with mentoring hours at additional cost. Please contact us if you are unable to attend any specific days of your course.

You may have light reading or homework which should take no longer than 3 hours per week.

Upon completion of both modules, graduates will receive Yoga Alliance RYT 200 qualification, the international standard for teaching.

You can take either module individually – Module 1 if you are a serious practitioner or Module 2 if you are already a qualified teacher looking for a refresher. However, certification will only occur once both modules have been completed.

To be eligible for certification, within 18 months from completion of Module 1. Otherwise you will need to repeat module 1. All training dates will be released 6 months in advance.

No, the examination and evaluation that leads to certification only happens in Module 2.
